About Hobby World

Hobby World is a hobby shop located in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. It is a privately owned and operated by Doyle and Tracy Burke. We began working on our operation in January of 2007 and opened our doors at 781 N. Westwood Blvd. in the Valley Plaza Shopping Center on July 2, 2007. Our objective has been to provide hobby supplies to the Poplar Bluff, Missouri market area. Rather than focus on a single hobby we have chosen to address the needs of a very wide and diverse spectrum of hobbies. We believe that hobbies are about people's time and activities where they look to relax and most of have FUN. "Our Business is FUN" has been our slogan from day one. We have fun working in the hobby business and we try to provide a unique shopping experience by having hands on, interactive displays for folks to "play with". The Real Flight Simulator, a Tinker Toy table, a Rokenbok table, a SCX "My First Driving School" display and the big six foot by sixteen foot-six lane slot car track all make for an exciting time and makes Hobby World a fun place to shop. We get to know our customers by name because we give personal service and most of the folks who shop with us return again and again. Our product mix has changed some over the past two years as the needs of the customers dictate. We now carry fabric and quilting supplies in addition to the radio control vehicles and aircraft, art supplies, school project materials, toys, games, train sets, slot cars, model kits, paints, tools, wood burning, are but a sample of the numerous products you can find here.
